Product Description

Tetrahydrofuran (THF) is a colorless organic liquid that is miscible with water and has a small viscosity at room temperature and pressure. The chemical formula for this cyclic ether can be written as (CH2)4O. Because of its long liquid range, it is a commonly used medium polarity aprotic solvent. Its main use is as a precursor of high molecular polymers. Although THF has a similar odor and chemical properties to ether, it has a poor anesthetic effect. On October 27, 2017, the list of carcinogens published by the World Health Organization's International Agency for Research on Cancer was preliminarily collated for reference, and tetrahydrofuran was in the list of class 2B carcinogens.
